Since 2008 the Saxon climate protection policies have been based on the action plan 'climate and energy' as the programmatic fundament.
This action plan contains almost 300 activities regarding climate protection, sustainable energy supply and the adaptation to climate change.
To implement those activities the Saxon State Government counts on (the cooperation with) relevant decision makers and actors working in the field of economy, politics, administration, science and community.
Activities primarily focus on informing and advising various target groups, offering financial incentives in form of grant programmes and assure quality control.

The INTERREG IV C project 'EnercitEE' contributes significantly to the implementation of activities that are included in the action plan 'climate and energy'.
EnercitEE seeks to improve energy efficiency focussing on two central target groups - the private households and local authorities. The action plan also points at these key target groups concerning energy saving. There are still considerable possibilities, for instance regarding building insulation, more efficient machines and devices or energy conscious way of thinking.
