Lower Silesian participation in the international conference „Energy Autonomy for the House, District, Community and Region”
On 2 September 2011 the Lower Silesian EnercitEE regional management participated in an international conference „Energy Autonomy for the House, District, Community and Region” held in Wrocław, which was organized by the Free Entrepreneurship Association (Stowarzyszenie Wolna Przedsiębiorczość), a very active regional agent in the energy sector. Honorary patronage was held by prof. Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, and Rafal Jurkowlaniec, Marshal of Lower Silesia Voivodeship.
Dresden’s contributions to the European Mobility Week
From 16 to 22 September 2011 the European Mobility Week will take place and among many European cities the city of Dresden plans various activities to foster sustainable, energy-efficient and low-emission mobility.
As president of POLIS, a network of European cities and regions working together to deploy innovative technologies and policies for a more sustainable mobility the city of Dresden is pleased to support the European Mobility Week.
Highlights of the European Mobility Week in Dresden will be the campaign “Cycling City” and the Mobility Day taking place in Dresden’s World Trade Centre (WTC):
SUSTRAMM – First steps towards the implementation of an electric bus line in Pirna (Saxony)
On 23 August Saxony´s SUSTRAMM Sub-Project Participants the City of Pirna and the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden) jointly deducted a workshop addressing the projected implementation of an electric bus in the historic city centre of Pirna.
Let’s make a trip to the world of energy – energy day in a Swedish kindergarten
In May we spent two days in a Swedish kindergarten to talk about the topic energy. The kindergarten is not far from Oskarshamn, deep in the forest on the Swedish countryside. As we smelled the country air we knew we were right. There the kids have a close contact to the nature and to the animals. They learn to take care of them- in my opinion a really good concept.
Kick-off-meeting of the EnercitEE sub-project GRACE
The kick-off-meeting of the sub-project GRACE was held from 12th to 13th July 2011 in Bautzen.
Sub-project partners from the Italian region Emilia- Romagna and from Lower Silesia, Poland participated in the 1st GRACE meeting. The kick-off-meeting was opened by the welcome address from Christina Mante from the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology. She introduced EnercitEE and explained the structure and objectives of this INTERREG IVC project.
Kick-off meeting of the sub-project E-FoxES in Bautzen, Saxony
The first meeting of the EnercitEE sub-project E-FoxES „Energy saving foxes in European Schools“ was held in Bautzen in the end of June 2011.
The Bautzen Innovation Centre TGZ Bautzen is the Lead Sub-Project Participant (LSPP). Further sub-project partners are the French NGO Prioriterre from Haute Savoie and Energikontor Sydost from Southeast Sweden. Hartmut Vogel from Bautzen town council and Christina Mante from the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology attended the meeting, too.
Newspaper of Oskarshamn interviewed two Saxon students
Steffi Hänig and Armin Verch, two Saxon students completing their practical training in the Energy Agency of Southeast Sweden (Energikontor Sydost) within EnercitEE’s sub-project PraTLA (Practical training in local authorities) were interviewed by the newspaper of Oskarshamn. Among other things the students were asked to describe their experiences made in Smaland as well as potential differences in the energy situation between Sweden and Germany.

Integrated energy and climate protection concept for Dresden
On 28 July 2011 the Committee for Business Development of the regional capital Dresden decided to commission the compilation of an „Integrated energy and climate protection concept”. After an open call for tenders an external expert was selected to carry out the compilation.
Within the next 9 months the future energy supply will be discussed with Dresden’s citizens, businesses, the energy industry and administration in order to develop an integrated energy and climate protection concept.
EnercitEE meeting in Annecy / France
All EnercitEE Working Group members met in Annecy, France, from 28 to 29 June 2011.
The aim of the 2-day meeting was mainly to discuss the content and layout of the Good Practice Guide (GPG). In the morning of the first day each EnercitEE Regional Manager presented the good practice examples of its region to be included in the 5 chapters of the GPG. Each chapter deals with Energy Efficiency in the fields of buildings, heat and power generation/supply, transport/mobility, innovation and technology and communication and motivation. The Good Practice Guide in English will be published by the end of summer this year. The English as well as the partners’ translated versions will be provided for download on the EnercitEE website.
